Sandvine’s customers continue to innovate with service plans that take the worry out of broadband.
As highlighted in CED Magazine, GCI, which is Alaska’s largest telecommunications provider and long-time Sandvine customer, recently announced their “No Worries” data plans.
GCI designed these new data plans with the goal of giving subscribers the capability to control their monthly bills and eliminate surprise overage fees.
According to GCI, when a subscriber on a “No Worries” data plans reaches their monthly data allowance, they will be given three choices:
- Choose to buy additional high speed data bucket
- Upgrade to a No Worries plan that best meets your needs
- Use the internet at a basic level of service (less than 1 Mbps) with no overage
These options give subscriber tremendous flexibility and should eliminate bill shock, while at the same time giving GCI customers more control around how much they pay for monthly Internet service.
A quick Google search revealed that Alaska’s state motto is “North to the Future”, and in my opinion that is exactly where other North American fixed operators should be looking for the future service innovation.
